Malva - Finnish 100% sheep wool yarn 95g/270m, color: Warlock's back yard. Small batch!

malva is a finnish sheep wool yarn. the skein has grams and approximately meters of dk-weight recommended needle size mm or depending on how tightly you knit purpose.

The yarn is 100% Finnish sheep wool and is spun in Finland. 75% of the wool is pure finnsheep wool and 25% is a mixture of wool from different sheep breeds. The yarn is hand-dyed at Minri's studio.

Malva is only slightly processed and has a rustic feel. The yarn may contain small amounts of plant material. This is normal. If you wish, you can remove the pieces of hay while knitting. The yarn may also have knots due to the production process.

The finished knit is warm, durable and does not pill easily. The yarn is well suited for sweaters or mittens, for example. Malva can also be used for weaving.

Minri's yarns are dyed in batches of approximately 500g and the color tones may vary between dyeing batches. To ensure an even knitting result, I recommend knitting in stripes: Knit alternately 1 layer from one skein and 1 layer from the other skein.

Please note that the color tone shown in the picture may also vary between different devices, depending on the lighting conditions and, for example, the settings of the screen. The picture never corresponds to 100% reality.

For finished knits, airing is usually sufficient for maintenance. However, if washing becomes necessary, wash the knit by hand in lukewarm water and use wool detergent. Small amounts of colour may come off in the first wash. This is normal.

The skein size of Malva varies somewhat. However, each skein is at least 95g and the product is priced according to this size. The range is 95g-105g / skein. A small batch of this yarn base will be available for sale in spring 2026. 

Warlock's back yard is a bold and variegated splash of green tones! Amongst many greens there is forest green, emerald, moss and grass green. Black and brown are giving depth to the color. Note, that due to the dyeing technique, no two skeins of Warlock's back yard are similar. In this type of coloring there is also a high risk of colors pooling i.e. one color creating a splotch in knitted fabric instead of nicely blended multicolor coat of color. This is not a flaw but a feature. To avoid the pooling, you can divide also one skein into two and knit them in stripes.
